Wirksworth Music Centre FAQS
Charges
Music making is an enjoyable social activity. We believe that all young musicians, of all abilities, need to play with others. So we keep the cost of attending Music Centre as low as possible. The cost is £27.50 per term (payable annually or in two half yearly installments). This cost covers attendance at one or more of the music groups. We will not turn anyone away, so if you might have difficulty paying please mention it to our Coordinator.
Refreshment break
There is a break during each session when the small tuck shop is open. 50p - 75p is adequate if refreshments are needed.
Term and Concerts Dates
Music Centre meets every Saturday during term time in the English block at Anthony Gell School. For more information on any of the Centre's activities please contact the Music Centre Coordinator : Jenny Acons on 01629 822263 Support Group All parents and friends are members of our Support Group (for free!). They help in many ways to ensure the smooth running of Music Centre sessions and performances. The Support Group is chaired by Julia Crowley. Julia may be contacted on 01773 850 019. Any help on Saturday mornings is always appreciated - ask Julia to add you to the rota!

1. 26th Mar = Strings and Recorders (Jenny's, Chris' and David's groups) at the United Reformed Church
2. 28th Mar = Wind and Recorders (Nick's, Kathi's and Brigid's groups) at the Members Room at County Hall

May: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
Jun: 16th, 23rd, 30th
Jul: 7th (except senior groups)
Concerts
1. 30th Jun, 7.30pm = Senior groups (Senior Wind Band, David's Senior Strings, Chris' Recorder Consort); venue tbc
2. 7th Jul 10.30am = All other groups apart from the above senior groups; venue at Music Centre
3. 12th May = Workshop morning with wider ops strings at Anthony Gell School
